Cindy McKnight - MS, LCPC, NCC, CCTP, BC-TMH

 

Cindy McKnight, Mental Health Therapist, and Owner of Living Pono Counseling is a nationally certified counselor. With eighteen years of experience in the mental health field, she is dedicated to helping her clients achieve a high level of emotional and mental well-being.

 

Working interactively with individuals, couples, families and teens, she is solution focused to assist her clients in living their lives to their fullest potential. Integrating research-based methodologies and techniques; Cindy assists her clients on their journey of emotional strength building and personal fulfillment with a focus on lifelong health and prosperity.

 

Cindy is also a trained mediator through Northwestern University, which allows her to assist individuals and couples. Mediation can be a productive way to temper differences while learning to negotiate their needs productively and efficiently.

 

Cindy specializes in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been a proven effective treatment for trauma victims.

DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) a therapy designed to help those suffering from mood disorders as well as those who need to change harmful behavioral patterns. CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy with a goal of changing patterns of thinking or behaviors.

 

Certifications are offered through IATP. IATP offers two levels of Clinical Trauma certifications, which are awarded on the basis of education, experience and trauma training.
