Kristy Peterson - MA, LPC

Kristy Peterson is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Clinical Psychology (Specialization in Counseling) from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.  Kristy’s career started in Corporate America, but her passion has always been in the mental health field where she can put her education to use helping others achieve their therapy goals.

Kristy specializes in treating individuals who are struggling with past trauma, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationship struggles, and career counseling.  She believes that a nurturing relationship with a counselor is critical to a positive outcome and practices a non-judgmental style that creates a safe environment for her clients.

While having been trained in several different treatment options, Kristy primarily practices CBT for depression and anxiety and was recently trained to conduct EMDR for trauma processing.  She often serves as a life coach for people seeking positive direction in their careers and relationships.  She has a passion for family dynamics and helping couples and families navigate difficult times to strengthen and create healthy relationships.  When relationships are ending, Kristy acts as an ally to help you cope with the stress of that decision or loss.

Kristy’s goal is to support and guide throughout the therapy process to help her clients meet their individual or collective goals both short term and long term so that they are able to live their best life.
