Aaron Kennell is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker in Minnesota pursuing a secondary license (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). He received his dual undergraduate degrees in Political Science and English: Creative Writing at the University of Central Florida. He then pursued a Master of Social Work from the University of Central Florida’s School of Social Work in 2019.


Throughout his graduate career, Aaron worked in internships in domestic violence shelters, university campuses, and private non-profits with the aim of learning and practicing empowerment-based interventions and therapies.  After graduation, he began working in school social work capacities in K-8th grade, providing interventions related to family challenges, domestic violence, and relationship abuse, relationship health, and curriculums, LGBTQ+ counseling and services related to social affirmations and transitioning, and social-emotional learning (expressing feelings, emotions, boundaries, etc.).  He is now bringing these topics, knowledge, and skill sets to Living Pono Counseling.

Aaron provides an affirming safe space for any age within the LGBTQ+ community, individuals, groups, and families, seeking out therapeutic interventions related to domestic and sexual violence, social-emotional learning, setting boundaries, using poetry and storytelling to reframe a client’s growth, and empowering to motivate individual and social change.
